The students at St. Mary’s higher Secondary School are expected to behave with courtesy, respect and discipline. They should stand out as well educated young persons, bright, confident (self-assured) and pleasant mannered which will reflect on themselves and on their school. Each student is obliged to adhere to the following rules and regulations.
- The students must bring the school diary to school EVERYDAY.
- Punctuality is a value to be esteemed and observed by the students at all times, whether it be in coming to school on time or in submitting project, assignment etc.
- Every student must carry herself with dignity and wear the school uniform with pride and grace.
- Students must come in school uniform on PTM days.
- Students may celebrate their birthday in the school by distributing only sweets/chocolate. Return gifts are not allowed.
- Organizing parties are forbidden.
- Students must bring only the school books as per the Time-Table to avoid heavy bags. If fancy items, cash or mobile are found in the bag, they will be confiscated and the student suspended/expelled.
- Students must respect each other and look after the property of both the school and of other students. Any article found in the classroom, school premises etc, must be deposited with the class teacher or teacher-in-charge.
- Polite behaviour is expected at all times. Use of abusive and foul language in the school premises is strictly prohibited.
- Students must not deface the wall and the furniture by writing or scratching on them. Those indulging in such activities are liable to strict disciplinary action will have not pay for the damages incurred.
- While moving in the corridors, on the staircase, students should walk in a line and keep to their left. Unnecessary movement, running and shouting in the corridors should be avoided.
- It is compulsory for all the students to attend the assembly. No students will stay back in the class during assembly without prior permission of the Class Teachers.
- Half day leave will be granted only if parents come personally to collect their child during the break.
- It is compulsory for all the students to conserve in English in the school premises.
- Students must take a balanced interest in academics and co-curricular activities.
- Catechism/Value Education/Moral Science should be considered equally important as the other subjects.
- Respect for elders is another ideal. Students must respect their parents, teachers, elders or visitors to the school by their polite behaviour – e.g. standing when speaking to them or when spoken to, carrying their books, offering them a glass of water when necessary and by observing the code of respectful behaviour.
- Students must keep the surrounding of the school campus clean and green, Waste paper and other litter should be put in the dustbin only.
- Late arrivals will be marked in their diaries. Three late arrivals will lead to strict disciplinary action.
- It is compulsory for all the students to attend the school on the first day after each of the vacations and on the last day before the vacation.
- If student take leave the class teacher must be informed through the dairy or through a leave application duly signed by the parents stating the reason for taking the leave.
- In case of leave on medical grounds a medical certificate by the doctor along with the leave application should be sent. Students joining school after medical leave must produce a fitness certificate.
- Dress code must be strictly followed. Wearing jewellery, applying mehendi and nail polish are prohibited.
- Regular attendance is an integral part of a student’s life. This inculcates discipline and regularity in students and these in turn create value consciousness that became an essential part of life. All the children must have minimum 75% attendance for the whole academics session.
- Any student attempting to cheat during an examination by talking, passing notes, making signs etc. will be given a zero and she is liable to be suspended or dismissed at the discretion of the Principal.
- Any student found with a mobile in the school will be immediately suspended/expelled.
- Disobedience, disrespected conduct, non-submission of projects and home work, justify strict disciplinary action. Two official warning will be given to the student before any action is taken. The Principal reserve the right to suspend or expel a student who does not follow the norms of the school.
