S.M.A Stands for "St. Mary of the Angels". Our School Crest is a
beautiful and meaningful Red Shield with the
School motto "EXCELSIOR" engraved above it.
Mary is the patroness of our school. The Shield is
a symbol of Mary's protective love for her children.
The Lily within the shield symbolizes purity. The two heart shaped
petals symbolize the heart of every child that enters the portals of
S.M.A. and is ever under the loving care and protection of
Mother Mary.
The three Stars above the Lily stand for the three ideals, that every
St. Marian must pursue - GOODNESS, TRUTH, PURITY.
Mary, to whom the school is dedicated is a model of these virtues.
EXCELSIOR just above the shield is our School Motto.
It is a Latin word adopted by the English language,
which means 'HIGHER AND EVER HIGHER'.
The motto, therefore , is an invitation to keep striving
for the best, for EXCELLENCE in studies and
all other training imparted or received
