Education can’t be confined to the four walls of the classroom only. For full growth and complete development of the personality of a child, the responsibility is to be shared equally by the parents as well as the school. Needless to say, the school expects your co-operation in order to develop conducive atmosphere for the education and child’s welfare. Keeping this in view, there are a few suggestions and guidelines for you to consider. As joint educators, parents should instil in their child, respect and obedience to the school rules and regulations.

  • Parents must read the contents of the School Diary to get familiar with the school system and functioning and the same should be explained to their ward.
  • They must ensure that their ward brings the School Diary to the school every day. It is a link between both the parents and the teachers to convey any information.
  • The students’ profile pages (1to4) should be filled in, correctly, promptly and completely. Parents must enter their specimen signature as well.
  • The name, class and section should be clearly marked on books, notebook and all the belongings of the student. e. g. water bottles, bags, cardigans, etc.
  • Any change in the address or telephone number must be intimated to the school office promptly in writing.
  • Any notice, instruction, circular sent in the School Diary should be acknowledged by the parents by affixing their signature.
  • Parents must see that their ward adheres to the school uniform strictly and wear the I-Card to the school every day. Students who are not in proper uniform will not be allowed to enter their class rooms.
  • Parents must co-operate with the school in its attempt to help in their ward’s progress by paying attention to their regularity, punctuality and discipline.
  • Solicit leave for your ward only when it is almost unavoidable. Minimum 75% attendance is compulsory in any kind of assessment/evaluation conducted by the school.
  • Written application must be submitted to the Principal/H.M. prior to taking leave.
  • Parents must always attend the Parent-Teacher Meeting and be in touch with the class teacher & subject teachers.
  • Parents must collect their ward’s progress report in person. The progress report will not be given to the students.
  • Parents must not send their ward to school if she is suffering from any infectious disease like chicken pox, measles, conjunctivitis etc. as they need to be quarantined till the infection is over.
  • Students who have to wait after school for their conveyance must do so in the school campus and should not loiter around or outside the school.
  • Adhere strictly to the days and timings fixed for meeting the Principal/H.M./Teachers.
  • Parents are not allowed to enter the class room to meet their ward or any teacher during school hours. In case of emergency, parents must meet the Principal/ H.M. so that a meeting could be arranged with the concerned teacher.
  • Parents must read the circulars carefully before making any inquiry on the telephone.
  • All communications to the school by the parents must be addressed to the Principal/ Vice Principal / H.M.
  • No collection of funds for any purpose whatsoever or fine is to be charged in the name of the school without the explicit previous permission of the Principal.
  • Parents may not engage the teachers of the institution for private tuitions without the explicit permission of the Principal.
  • Gifts to the members of the staff or other demonstrations in their honour require prior sanction of the Principal.
  • Parents are requested to visit the school website:-www.stmarysschoolmhow.ac.in from time to time for latest updates.
  • A notice of three days must be given for any certificate or document required from the school office.
  • Parents are advised to be conscious of the fact that the school is actually a supplement to the home and not its substitute. It is very important that the parents extend their co-operation to the school in all its matters concerning their ward.
  • Parents must strictly forbid their children from carrying a mobile to school, else it will lead to serious consequences.
  • The School Management reserves the rights to add, to alter or to amend any of these rules and the same shall be binding on the parents and the students.
  • Parents are requested to meet the Principal/ Vice Principal only between 8.00 am to 10.00 am any day.
  • When the child leaves the school she will be handed over to the parents and not to any other relatives/helper. In case of emergency, an authority letter need to be given by the parents.
  • Kindly avoid requesting for half day or permission during exam. Only in case of emergencies, please send note written in the (student’s dairy) a day prior.
  • Lunch boxes and water bottles to be brought only by your ward. No other means will entertained.
  • Kindly ensure that your ward brings books to school only as per the time table. No need to bring all books thus increasing the child’s bag load.
  • Kindly ensure that your ward does not carry any electronic gadget/storage devices like mobile camera, smart phone, pen drive, flash drive, smart watch etc to the school.
  • Parents coming to school to pick and drop their child on their own vehicles must not park their vehicles in front of the school gate.
  • Kindly ensure that the vehicles by which your child comes to school, follows the safety & security guidelines given below.
  1. Private vehicles are not to be overload and driven recklessly.
  2. Drivers need to carry the required authentic documents of the vehicle with them.
  3. Dress code of drivers should be as per authorization.
